For once the YouTube algorithm worked in my favour by suggesting the amazing channel of Mike Winnet.
Mike is a successful business owner who made his fortunes by selling his company in 2017. He has been very open on the hard work and time that was required to build his company and eventually sell it. So when he was deciding what the next step for him should be, he decided to call out the 'Get Rich Quick' snake oil salesmen you see on the internet.
He created Contrepreneur - which gives a blueprint on what all these individuals have in common and how they lure people into buying their bogus product.
I love these episodes as it reminds us to question these outlandish claims and to keep your guard against individuals who are promising so much so quickly.
As I spent longer on his channel and checked out a few more videos I saw a mini series he did where he looked at the risk and success of other investment strategies. He tried house flipping, robo investing and crypto mining. He used his own money and then reported back his findings.
He reminds me a little of Damien Talks Money in the fact that he isn't a sell out. He is honest in his feedback, and because he hasn't taken sponsorship money from these brands, he can give back his own opinion.
Mike also has a podcast on where he gets a range of guests on, some of which have been conned, and others who ultimately fit his criteria of contrepreneur - like Samuel Leeds.
I've watched a fair number of his videos and I have loved them. In the future if I get the temptation to join one of these programmes for a quick buck, I will be right back onto his channel for a reminder. We are all grown ups responsible for our own outcome, but sometimes having a reminder to question things and to do due diligence is also helpful.
Have you watched him? If so - what did you think?
